This page explains how to use the self diagnosis summary to see the pattern
of strengths and weaknesses, avoid cop out, and use self improvement of them
as the foundation for a better life.

List your self-ratings below to get a pattern of how you have assessed your strengths and weaknesses.

You may want to capture your ratings in two columns: left hand side for ratings of 6 and below and right hand side for ratings of 7 and above.

Ok, that's an interesting pattern but what do I do with it?

Firstly, use it to decide how to get the best returns on your investment in this site and / or my e-book, "My Future, My Choice".

For example, you may decide to focus on those areas where you rated yourself at 6 or less (weaknesses) and invest in self improvement / life coaching online there.

Alternatively, you may decide to begin by building on your strengths (that is, those areas where you rated yourself at 7 and above).

It's up to you, of course, but the diagnosis summary will enable you to make this site and my e-book fit you, and your specific needs, rather then you having to fit them.


Second, your self diagnosis summary will be very helpful in your self improvement and learning goal setting.

In addition, it will be helpful when you prepare your personal development plan (click the link to see an example).

Your self diagnosis will enable you to focus on priorities that match your needs and, therefore, will likely lead to a sense of achievement and success as you deliver the action (which is great for your self esteem).


Third, your summary may surprise you or disappoint you in some ways.

Because, SELF appraisal is nearly always tricky in that our self image and how we behave in "reality" may differ - e.g. we all have our blind spots.

If you wish, you may also use your self diagnosis summary as a framework for getting some feedback about how trusted others see your strengths and weaknesses.

You may do this in many ways, of course, but if you do ask for feedback, be sure to respect it and value it even if you disagree with it.

The worst thing you can do is ask for feedback and, then when you get some, reject it all or get defensive about it or cop out or display other negative reactions.

Feedback is a gift - it creates opportunities for positive learning and action.


Fourth, as you carried out your self diagnosis, you had the opportunity to capture any immediate thoughts or ideas for your personal development.

This summary stage is a good place to review what you captured and incorporate your thoughts into your goal setting and learning.
